Future Travel Lust

Recently I’ve been having a severe case of wanderlust, and have been thinking of all the places left to be seen. So this post is dedicated to my future travel lust, of course I want to see everywhere but I will highlight a few here, in no particular order, and the reasons why.

1. CUBA

The history of Cuba is uncanning if not mysterious, a communist country that so much has been written about sometimes from a bias opinion. Still ancient in some regards, I want to see the cars, the street culture, dance in the street, lime with the locals, and I want to experience it while it’s still authentic, with out the “western” influence.

2. NORWAY

Voted the best place in the world to live by the UN survey for 5 years, that should be reason enough. However, the beauty of that country is unbelievable, Norway is the definition of postcard photography. Being able to witness the Northern Lights only adds to the magical experience.

3. CANADIAN ROCKIES

By now you would have realised that my travel weakness is beautiful scenery, I love scenic destinations and enjoy photographing them. Banff Park, Lake Louise and Jasper are high on the priority list, I am not much of a hiker but when beautiful scenery is involve that usually gets me going.

4. BRAZIL

Samba street parties, Copacabana beach, football, carnival, Brazil has it all. Missed out on World Cup 2014 and was gutted, but Olympics 2016 is definitely on the agenda. Not all about parties and sports though, Iguassu falls and being able to meet the indigenous people would be high on my priority list as well as a visit to the triple frontier. Just thinking about it gets me excited.

5. KENYA

A few years ago I had the opportunity to visit Kruger National Park in South Africa, and to date it has been one of the best experiences of my life. I was awestruck of the beauty of the wild, the concept of gaming, the exquisite animals and in some weird way, how insignificant a human being feels in that environment. I now refuse to see animals cooped up in a zoo restless, pacing and going crazy out of their minds, it has been my dream to visit another reserve and would rather visit one in another country. That is the main reason for Kenya making this list, even though a trip to Kenya would be only complete by visiting the Masai Mara people.

This is by no means an exhaustive list of all my travel lust but more of a prelude of the most travelled places. I will share another list at a later date of the off the beaten track travel lust. Where will your next travel adventure take you, and what are your must see countries and why?
