Why I travel

When I am asked this question, or what I am running from, I get confuse, or when someone asks why I want to go to a particular country. In mind, I am asking why don’t you. I have the travel bug, I am convinced I was born to travel the world. Why I like it so much?

1. I am a wanderer, I like that feeling of the unknown. Never knowing where you are going or what is going to happen, but eagerly awaiting it. When I was 5 years old I walked away, bummed a ride home, because I was tired waiting on my great-aunt. My cousins stayed behind, they didn’t believe I was going to do it…hahaha

2. I like meeting random persons. The ones who you would have never met anywhere in your usual little box. Who probably lives on the other side of the world, maybe not of the same race, maybe not the same religion, may not even speak the same language. It’s fun to be “friends” for a few hours, a day, a week, a month, and then move on.

3. I am a change fanatic, routine drives me crazy, I like pieces to keep changing and am constantly evolving. Travel fuels that craziness. Hence, why I like going to different destinations.

4. I like being a stranger. Walking a street in some random pieces of clothing that makes no sense makes me giggle. No one knows me, and quite frankly, no one cares. Who will I be today?

5. I want to see it for myself, I don’t want to read about these places in a book, I don’t want to hear the media’s perspective. I want to see it with my own eyes, and have my own experience.

That’s why I travel.
